The Windows PC version of Capcom's Ultra Street Fighter 4, a downloadable add-on for Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition 2012, will launch close to the game's console releases, according to Capcom's Neidel "Haunts" Crisan, who also revealed that the title will drop Games for Windows Live in favor of Steam.
When asked on Twitter if Ultra Street Fighter 4 will launch on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC simultaneously, Crisan responded with an affirmative, saying "the intention is to have them all launch at around the same time." When prompted if the title will abandon the GfWL service in favour of Steam, he confirmed that it is coming to Valve's distribution service and "we'll be transitioning from GFWL to Steam."
Announced at the Evo 2013 fighting game championships, Ultra Street Fighter 4 features balance tweaks to current characters and introduces new fighters Hugo, Poison, Rolento, Elena to the roster, as well as an unannounced fighter.
Ultra Street Fighter 4 will retail for $39.99 as a standalone, which includes more than $40 worth of DLC, such as past DLC costumes for all characters, along with access to future content. Those who own Super Street Fighter 4 or Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition, can grab the expansion as a $14.99 add-on. Both versions are slated for release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
