Call of Duty: Ghosts will allow players to transfer their profile, accomplishments prestige and more across console generations, the developers revealed today at the first-person shooter's multiplayer reveal event.
The transfer process will only be allowed within the same console families, i.e., between Xbox 360 and Xbox One, or PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4.
Later at the event, Infinity Ward confirmed that those who purchase the game's Season Pass will be able to take the game's DLC from current-gen to next-gen console families at no extra charge.
Earlier this month, GameStop revealed a program that will offer $50 trade-in credit for Xbox 360 games when PowerUp Rewards members upgrade to the Xbox One versions. Eligible games include Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, FIFA 14 and Madden NFL 25.
