The launch video for Platinum Games' "mass hero action" game for Wii U, The Wonderful 101, is neck-deep in the game's zany gameplay.
The video introduces the alter egos of the game's seven playable heroes — all named Wonder and their corresponding color — and their respective abilities. At the players command, the superheroes can turn into giant forms, such as "Unite Hand," where the team combines to form a giant shield-weilding hand and "Wonderize Blue" that will make them form a blue sword.
A demo for The Wonderful 101 is now available on the Nintendo Wii U eShop in Europe and Japan. Platinum Games revealed in a post on the company's official blog, that North American Wii U owners will have to "wait a little longer for the demo."
Polygon recently went hands-on with the single-player component of The Wonderful 101, so be sure to read our preview of the game's free-flowing combat. We also tried out the game's multiplayer mode, where we found that leading a team of superheroes becomes a rainbow of beautiful chaos. The full game is slated for launch in Europe on Aug. 23, Japan on Aug. 24 and in North America on Sept. 15.
