Killzone: Mercenary open beta coming Aug. 27, earlier to PS Plus

The beta for Killzone: Mercenary, the PlayStation Vita-exclusive shooter from Guerrilla Cambridge, will be opened up over the next two weeks, the studio announced today.

All PS Vita owners in North America will be able to jump in as of Aug. 27, but North American PlayStation Plus subscribers will get in a week early — once the PlayStation Store is updated Aug. 20, they'll receive access to the beta. That earlier date also applies to people who received promotional vouchers for the beta.

The server-testing beta will run through Sept. 3, one week before the game launches on Sept. 10. Guerrilla Cambridge launched closed beta testing earlier this month.
