The upcoming Pokemon TV special, Pocket Monsters: The Origin, will take place in the Kanto region from the series' first generation of Game Boy games, Siliconera reports.
The Origin was revealed during the Pokemon Game Show taking place in Tokyo. Instead of Ash and Gary, the hero and rival cartoon watchers have become familiar with, The Origin will star Red and Green from Pocket Monsters Red and Green (localized as Pokemon Red and Blue). Pocket Monsters: The Origin is scheduled to air in Tokyo on Oct. 2. No plans for a North American showing have been announced.
