Sega unveils Yakuza Restoration for Japan

The next Yakuza game is Yakuza Ishin, translated as Yakuza Restoration in English, Sega revealed during its "Yakuza Character General Election" announcement in Japan.

Featuring a protagonist called Ryoma Sakamoto, details such as release date, region and platform for next entry in the Yakuza franchise were not revealed. A Yakuza Restoration website is now live and, according to Siliconera, further details on the game will be divulged in the next issue of Famitsu.

Last week, Sega teased that a "surprise announcement" would be made at Yakuza 5's "Yakuza Character General Election" held at the Alta Vision screen at Shinjuku Station in Tokyo on Aug. 18 at 5:00 p.m. JST. Sega's last Yakuza game was the PlayStation 3-exclusive open-world game, Yakuza 5, which was released in December, 2012 in Japan.
