Closed beta registrations for Namco's free-to-play downloadable title, Ridge Racer Driftopia, are now open, according to a post on the PlayStation blog.

The beta is expected to go live soon and interested parties can sign up via the PlayStation blog's registration page or the game's official website until Aug. 22. The beta is open to those in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom.

Announced in April, Ridge Racer Driftopia will be available this year on PlayStation 3 and Windows PC. In the drifting-centric racing game, users can spend money to expand their car collections and purchase packs of booster cards that offer special abilities, such as increases in drift power.
