Project Spark video demoes level variety, beta hits in October

Samit Sarkar (he/him) is Polygon’s deputy managing editor. He has more than 15 years of experience covering video games, movies, television, and technology.

Project Spark will give players the tools to unleash their creativity by building worlds and making games, and publisher Microsoft Studios showed off a variety of creations that have already been built in the game with a new trailer.

Microsoft announced the game as an Xbox One and Windows 8 title during its E3 2013 press briefing. Project Spark will allow users to take advantage of Kinect and SmartGlass as they create games within the game. Check out our interview with the developers for more details.

Project Spark's upcoming closed beta will begin in October, and registration is open on the game's website.
