Dragon Age: Inquisition trailer introduces the inquisitor

Electronic Arts has shared some more story details, alongside a few minutes of Frostbite-powered visuals, of the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition during its Gamescom 2013 press conference.

"From the very opening moments of Dragon Age: Inquisition, this is a world on the edge," executive producer Mark Darrah says.

Hawke, the hero of Dragon Age 2 is out. In his or her place, you play as the inquisitor, a user-created protagonist organizing the inquisition tasked with uncovering the villain responsible for letting demons run roughshod over the fantasy world of Thedas.

"The world has essentially undergone this event where the veil — the thing that keeps the demons out, to put it in simple terms — has torn asunder," creative director Mike Laidlaw said.

"This is the first time we've created a main character where you are not only at the head of an organization, you actually seize and control that power directly," Darrah added.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is being released for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Windows in Fall 2014.
