Titanfall's brutal Attrition multiplayer mode detailed in latest trailer

The latest gameplay video for Titanfall, Respawn Entertainment's upcoming mech-centric first-person shooter, demonstrates the tactical gameplay of the elite assault Pilots and the armored Titans in Attrition mode on a new map called Angel City.

This particular gameplay video illustrates how Militia forces have travelled to Angel City's harbour district to bring in an ace pilot called Barker, who is apparently a key to the resistance. In the process of taking in Barker, the extraction team are headed off by an Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC) carrier and a battle ensues between the two factions.

Recently, the game's lead artist, Joel Emslie, said that the game's mechs were influenced by '80s classics such as Blade Runner, Star Wars and Sega's classic title Abrams Battle Tank. According to Emslie, some of the artists used old-school techniques to conceptualize the robots, including kitbashing and practical model making.

Officially announced during Microsoft's E3 2013 press conference, Titanfall is slated to launch Spring 2014 for Xbox 360, Xbox One and Windows PC. For more details about the game, check out our in-depth look at Titanfall from E3 2013.
