Battlefield 4's Battlefield Premium subscription will give players five expansion packs from launch through next summer for $50, publisher Electronic Arts announced during its Gamescom 2013 press briefing today.
The expansion packs are Second Assault, which will be available first on Xbox One; China Rising, coming in December; Naval Strike, launching in spring 2014; and Dragon's Teeth and Final Stand, both of which are scheduled for release next summer.
Second Assault will include four beloved Battlefield 3 maps. China Rising will take the fight to mainland China, while Naval Strike will contain ocean combat with the Chinese armada. Dragon's Teeth will consist of urban warfare waged by the U.S., and Final Stand will bring an end to the war. Battlefield 4 pre-orders include access to China Rising at no additional cost.
Other Premium perks for Battlefield 4 include two weeks' worth of early access to each expansion pack; unspecified new content on a weekly basis; priority in server queues; special personalization options for characters; and 12 bonus Battlepacks. In addition, Premium members will be able to transfer their Battlefield 4 subscriptions from current-gen to next-gen.
Battlefield 4 developer EA DICE will begin beta testing in early October. For the first three days of the beta, it will be exclusive to Battlefield 3 Premium members, pre-order customers of the Digital Deluxe Edition of Battlefield 4, and owners of the Limited and Digital Deluxe Editions of Medal of Honor Warfighter. Battlefield 4 will be released Oct. 29 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC, and at launch on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
