Gran Turismo 6 ships worldwide Dec. 6, film adaptation confirmed

Gran Turismo 6 will come to PlayStation 3 worldwide on Dec. 6, Sony Computer Entertainment confirmed at its Gamescom press conference today.

The current-generation sequel in Polyphony Digital's real driving simulator series will come with new concept cars designed and conceived by major car manufacturers, like Audi, Volkswagen and Peugeot, and other brands, including Nike.

Sony also confirmed development of a movie inspired by the Gran Turismo franchise, with Polyphony's Kazunori Yamauchi consulting on the film's creation. Producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti are attached and the film's human dimension will be inspired by GT Academy.
