Fable Legends beta testing rolling-out in 2014, no plans for Fable 4

The beta test of Lionhead Studios' Xbox One-exclusive, Fable Legends, will roll-out next year, the studio revealed in a Q&A on its official forums, sparing details on how the beta will work and the game's release date.

Despite the lack of details, the company is expected to release more information about beta testing opportunities on its website in the "coming weeks and months." In addition to the beta testing news, the Q&A states that Fable Legends is the only "Fable core game" in development by Lionhead Studos, and it has "no plans to make a sequel to Fable 3."

Fable Legends will feature up to four-player co-op with four character classes, including a tank-esque Hero of Strength heroine, a mage-type Hero of Will, the ranged shooter Hero of Skill and a general damage Hero.

Players will also have the option to play as villains in Fable Legends by using a SmartGlass application or Kinect voice commands. As villains, users can control the environment in tower defense-like gameplay and manage the spawn points of enemies for the heroes to battle.
