A free trial of ArenaNet's fantasy MMO Guild Wars 2 is available this weekend, celebrating the game's first birthday.
Guild Wars 2, a full priced game with a free subscription, was launched Aug. 28, 2012, and described by Polygon's review as "everything that's good about the genre."
The weekend free trial is open to all players in North America and Europe, starting at 12:01 a.m. PT on Friday, Aug. 23 (that's 8:01 a.m. Friday, UK time) and ending at 11:59 p.m. PT on Sunday. ArenaNet has created a registration page for trial players.
The company has also announced a 'Digital Heroic Edition,' priced at $49.99, which includes an armor pack, storage box and experience boosters.
