A video released today on publisher Namco Bandai EU's YouTube channel shows how Dark Souls 2 developer From Software and a master blacksmith forge the game's armor in the real world.
Check out the video above to see how the blacksmith worked with From Software's designs to meld metal into the armor that made its public debut last December in Dark Souls 2's announcement trailer. You'll also see him create a shield, sword, helm and chain mail, as a costume designer weaves the fabric that envelops the game's lonely warrior.
Dark Souls 2 is set for a March 2013 release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC, with a closed beta headed to PS3 this fall. Polygon's spent some time with the game and its creators, so be sure to read our hands-on impressions and our interview with co-director Yui Tanimura.
