Don't Starve gets Steam Workshop support

Klei Entertainment's survival game Don't Starve now has Steam Workshop support, according to a recent update on Steam.

"What does that mean? Well, a lot of things," the Steam update reads. "Add in custom characters, play with the world generation, create new creatures and items, or take your adventure in a whole new direction! Using our handy-dandy Mod Upload Machine you can put your mods directly onto Steam Workshop for everyone to download and enjoy."

Klei also added a new level called The Ruins, new creatures and a slew of new items with the recent update, all of which are detailed in the Steam post. Prospective modders can learn more about new API additions in a thread on the game's official forums.

Don't Starve was released earlier this year, and you can read Polygon's review to learn more about its "refreshingly upfront experience." Through Sunday, Aug. 25, you can also buy Don't Starve for Linux, Mac or Windows PC on Steam for $7.49, a 50 percent discount off its regular $14.99 price.
