Final Horizon is 'an extraterrestrial RTS' coming to PS4 and Vita

Final Horizon, Eiconic Games' "extraterrestrial" real-time strategy game, is headed to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, art and creative director Simon Credland revealed today on the PlayStation Blog.

The game is in an "early stage" of development, Credland wrote, and the developer is designing a mixture of real-time strategy, tower defense gameplay and "insect-based robots," with influences that span from Aliens to Avatar to Space Invaders.

"Final Horizon is the evolution of tower defense," he wrote. "You won't see Insectors [pictured above] walking slowly in single file from left to right here. Without spoiling the surprise, they will use every tool at their disposal to attack your Colonists. This will be a truly three-dimensional experience."

Earlier this week, Final Horizon was announced one of several indie games headed to PlayStation Vita at Sony's Gamescom 2013 press conference.
