Lost Planet 3 digital soundtrack available Aug. 27

Lost Planet 3's digital soundtrack will be available Aug. 27 through iTunes and Amazon, composer Jack Wall announced via his website.

Wall, best known for his work on Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, will release the soundtrack on his label, Lost in Sound. It will include 27 tracks split into two volumes: Alien Country Music and Score. The first volume combines country and rock themes, while the second provides Lost Planet 3's cinematic soundtrack.

"When Spark and Capcom asked me to write alien country as roughly half of the soundtrack to Lost Planet 3, I was really intrigued," Wall said via press release. "It would be the main character's mix tape. This is the music Jim Peyton listens to when he's on mission in his rig — the music his wife Grace, back on Earth, sends him to remind him of home. The challenge was to make it real, but add just enough elements and context to make it seem like it is music from the future."

You can preview five songs from the game's soundtrack now through Wall's site. Lost Planet 3 launches Aug. 27 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC.
