Grand Theft Auto 5 digital pre-order pulled from Europe's PlayStation Store (update)

The digital pre-order file for Grand Theft Auto 5 is no longer available in Europe's PlayStation Store, social media manager Sid Shuman announced today via the PlayStation Blog.

According to the post, some who downloaded the digital pre-order were able to access Grand Theft Auto 5 assets, which were then posted online.

"We sincerely apologize to Rockstar and GTA fans across the world who were exposed to the spoiler content," Shuman wrote. "GTA 5 is one of the most highly anticipated games of the year with a very passionate following, and we're looking forward to a historic launch on September 17."

Grand Theft Auto 5's soundtrack allegedly leaked yesterday from those pre-loaded files in both Sony and Microsoft's online stores.

We have contacted Sony about digital pre-orders in other regions and will update accordingly.

Update: Rockstar Games issued a statement on its official blog about the leaks, which can be read in full here.

"As you can imagine, we are deeply disappointed by leaks and spoilers being spread in advance of the game's launch," the post reads. "GTA V represents years of hard work by many people across the world, and we all couldn't be more excited to finally share it with you properly this Sept. 17."

Update 2: A Sony representative told us pre-orders in the US will not be affected.
