Developer Torn Banner has announced a TV-themed expansion for its historical first-person combat game Chivalry: Medieval Warfare.
Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior is based on the Spike TV show, "Deadliest Warrior," and features six characters from history's bloodiest cultures, including the Samurai and the Spartan. The expansion will be shown for the first time at PAX Prime this week and is due to be launched via Steam for $14.99 in the fall.
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare has sold 1.2 million copies so far. Earlier this month, the game was updated to include new customization options. In the expansion, new multiplayer game mods have also been added including custom battles, multi-team combat and permanent death.
"This is an opportunity to explore completely new warrior types, environments and weapons," said Torn Banner president Steve Piggott, "The Deadliest Warrior show asks one core question, if the greatest warriors from throughout history fought it out, who would win? Now we are bringing that decision to gamers as they get to vote for their faction with the swing of their sword, determining once and for all who is deadliest."
