Borderlands 2's cap will rise to level 72 on Sept. 3 alongside the release of the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge DLC, according to a Digital Trends exclusive.
Announced during Gearbox's PAX Australia panel, the 11-level cap increase and Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge is part of the upcoming series of DLC the company has planned for Borderlands 2.
The Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge features, for $5.00, the Digistruct Peak Challenge: a new map called Digistruct Peak, loot and the "ability to ‘Overpower' your game for extra challenges."
The first of three "Headhunter" packs, TK Baha's Bloody Harvest, will launch in October. The Halloween-themed DLC includes a new mission, a boss fight featuring T.K. Baha — the character was in Borderlands 1 DLC The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned — and a fight with Giant pumpkin boss, Jacques O'Lantern. Beating bosses will award new character customizations.
Borderlands 2's upcoming downloadable content will not be included for season pass holders because "that season has ended," Gearbox confirmed with Polygon last month, saying there are no current plans for a second season pass.
