Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F trailer brings the virtual idol West

A launch trailer for Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F heralds the first Western release of a console title starring the popular virtual singer.

The trailer shows off the game's songs like "Black Rock Shooter" and the tune popularized by Nyan Cat. Players must tap buttons to the song's rhythm while Miku and her fellow Vocaloids perform in the background.

The trailer also features some of the other aspects of the game, like decorating Miku's room and interacting with her and other Vocaloid characters. Players can also set up songs using their own music.

Hatsune Miku was first introduced in 2007 and quickly became the face of the virtual-singing Vocaloid software.

Project DIVA F launches on PlayStation 3 today in North America, and hits Europe on Sept. 4. While it was originally released a year ago in Japan for the PlayStation Vita, no Vita release has yet been announced for the West.
