Latest Grand Theft Auto 5 trailer brings the crew out of retirement

A new trailer for Grand Theft Auto 5 was released this morning by developer Rockstar, showcasing more personality from the game's three main characters, as well as clips of the game's massive open world and the activities available to players within it.

The trailer, by far the shortest video Rockstar has released to promote the game so far, shows how Franklin, Trevor and Michael are reacquainted and introduced into the heisting business. It's got everything you'd expect from a Grand Theft Auto trailer, including hip music, explosions, chases in various vehicles and enough guns to supply a small army.

Rockstar has steadily revealed the game's various features and characters in a series of trailers over the past few months. The most recent video revealed the game's online multiplayer component, which will launch shortly after the game on Oct. 1. Rockstar has also released videos demoing what activities are available in the game's open world, and two batches of trailers introducing the game's three playable protagonists.

Grand Theft Auto 5 launches on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 Sept. 17.
