The closed beta for SNK Playmore's 2D fighter The King of Fighters 13 Steam Edition has been extended until Sept. 6 with all pre-purchasers receiving immediate beta access, according to an update on the game's Steam page.
The King of Fighters 13 Steam Edition is a combination The King of Fighters 12 Climax's gameplay and the Xbox360 version of The King of Fighters 13's user interface, menus and configurations. All modes featured in the console versions will be included in the upcoming PC release.
From launch, the game's initial roster will consist of 36 fighters, including Iori with the Power of Flames, NESTS Style Kyo and Mr. Karate. To cater for lower-end PCs, SNK Playmore introduced a "Static" and "Dynamic" for both background systems and frame rate options into The King of Fighters 13 Steam Edition.
Those interested in receiving immediate access to the beta, which offers online play capabilities only, can pre-order The King of Fighters 13 Steam Edition on Steam for $24.99 (normally $29.99).
