Galak-Z: The Dimensional PAX trailer shows anime-inspired space shooting

A new trailer for Skulls of the Shogun studio 17-Bit Games' upcoming Galak-Z: The Dimensional is all about shooting things in space.

Pursued by enemy spaceships through a dense asteroid field, our hero decides he has nothing left to lose and turns on his foes, laser cannons blazing. While playing, portraits of both the player character and enemy pilots appear in the bottom corners of the screen; the portraits react appropriately to the on-screen action.

The hero's ship is shown going up against enemy craft both small and large as well as giant robots armed with laser swords. Luckily, he has missiles on his side. Lots and lots of missiles.

Aside from the obvious anime influences in the art style, the multi-missile barrage is very reminiscent of the "Itano Circus" in the Macross series, the signature flourish of legendary anime artist Ichiro Itano.

Galak-Z: The Dimensional is in development for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.
