Hitman: Absolution leads PS Store's August offerings

Hitman: Absolution, last year's stealth action title from IO Interactive, will be free for PlayStation Plus members starting tomorrow, Aug. 6, according to a post on the PlayStation Blog today.

Joining Hitman: Absolution (regularly $19.99) in the Instant Game Collection this month will be the following games:

  • Gaijin Games' platformer Bit.Trip Presents Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien (PlayStation 3, regularly $14.99),
  • Zen Studios' Zen Pinball 2: Star Wars Pinball (available for PS3 and PS Vita through Cross Buy, regularly $9.99)
  • Capcom's fighting game Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower (PS Vita and PSP, regularly $9.99)
  • Amanita Design's point-and-click puzzle adventure Machinarium (PS Vita, regularly $6.99).

Sony has not announced the dates at which those titles will join Agent 47.

Three other games will go on sale on Sony's digital distribution service on Aug. 6:

  • Nnooo's puzzle game EscapeVektor, $4.99 or $3.99 for PlayStation Plus members (regularly $9.99)
  • Valcon Games' action game Wicked Monsters Blast, $4.99 or $1.00 for PS Plus members (regularly $9.99)
  • Team17's retro platformer Superfrog HD, $7.99 for PS Plus members (available for PS3 and PS Vita through Cross Buy, regularly $9.99)

The PlayStation Store will also run a Rayman-themed sale this month, which includes the following games and discounts:

  • Rayman Origins PlayStation 3, $9.99 or $5.00 for PlayStation Plus members (regularly $19.99)
  • Rayman Origins PS Vita, $13.49 or $6.75 for PS Plus members (regularly $26.99)
  • Rayman 3 HD, $4.99 or $2.50 for PS Plus members (regularly $9.99)
  • Rayman Arena, $4.99 or $2.50 for PS Plus members (regularly $9.99)
  • Rayman 2: Revolution, $4.99 or $2.50 for PS Plus members (regularly $9.99)
  • Rayman 2: The Great Escape, $2.99 or $1.50 for PS Plus members (regularly $5.99)
  • Rayman, $2.99 or $1.50 for PS Plus members (regularly $5.99)

Departing the Instant Game Collection in August are Battlefield 3 (Aug. 6), Labyrinth Legends (Aug. 13), Gods Eater Burst (Aug. 20), Malicious (Aug. 20) and Dokuro (Aug. 27), so be sure to add those to your carts before they're gone.
