Windborne, a "social sandbox creation" game from Hidden Path Entertainment, is in development and headed for Steam Early Access in late 2013, according to the developer's official website.
The game will allow players to build, craft and otherwise personalize their worlds and help create a civilization for the native Jin by teaching and instructing them. Windborne's connected nature will also allow players to share their creations with others.
"Will you seek out the clues and artifacts of the ancients, or just loot passing islands for minerals and rare plants?" the official site asks. "Bring along your friends while you play, and share your creations with the world. Where will the wind take you?"
PAX Prime attendees will be able to go hands-on with Windborne later this month, Destructoid reports.
Hidden Path is also the developer of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the Defense Grid series of tower defense games and Age of Empires 2: HD Edition. Valve launched Steam Early Access earlier this year. The program allows developers to release games still in development through the digital distribution service. Games using the service include Arma 3 and Kerbal Space Program.
