A new trailer for EA Sports' NHL 14 shows the new "Be a Pro" mode in which a player's decisions off the ice matter nearly as much as their actions on it.
After creating his or her character and joining one of the NHL teams, a player will have to face media questions in press conferences and make choices off the ice like how to react when a fan asks for his autograph while he's eating. Depending on the player's actions, the media, public and other members of the team may gain or lose respect for the fictional pro.
If the player's character gains enough renown, he can collect media endorsements, like being on the cover of the fictional version of EA's NHL series.
NHL 14 hits Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on Sept. 10.
