Rhythm fighter KickBeat lands on PS3 and Vita Sept. 3

KickBeat, a rhythm-based fighting game from Pinball FX developer Zen Studios, will be release for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita Sept. 3 and support Cross Buy, community manager Bobby Loertscher announced on the PlayStation Blog today.

The dual platform game tasks players with battling in time to KickBeat's soundtrack, which will include Marilyn Manson, Papa Roach, Rob Zombie and more. Players will also be able to add their own music to the game as they score points by keeping up with the rhythm of the fight.

Zen Studios revealed KickBeat's PS Vita version in May 2012 and followed up with a gameplay trailer last August. Loertscher explained the delay between the announcement and launch as a function of developing the dual platform game, which will unlock for both platforms when purchased, thanks to Sony's Cross Buy program.

"It's been a long, long time coming, but we're so excited to announce that KickBeat will be available for download on September 3 for both PS3 and PS Vita," Loertscher wrote. "We heard so many of you asking for KickBeat on PS3, so we put our heads down, guzzled gallons of energy drinks, and just made it happen! Best of all, once you buy KickBeat on one platform, you get it free on the other! Two screens for the price of one."
