Nintendo bringing The Wonderful 101, Donkey Kong and Mario to Gamescom

Nintendo will bring a handful of its upcoming Wii U and Nintendo 3DS titles to Gamescom this year, including Pokemon X and Y and the next suite of games in the Mario franchise, the company announced today.

Gamescom attendees will be able to go hands-on with Platinum Games' The Wonderful 101 and Sonic: Lost World, the latest installment in Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog series. Interested fans can also check out Nintendo's upcoming first-party lineup of Wii U games, including The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Super Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8. Players will also be able to test the latest iterations of Wii Party games, including Wii Party U and Wii Karaoke U.

Attendees will also be able to play Pikmin 3, which launched across Europe last month.

Nintendo's 3DS Gamescom lineup is headlined by a short demo for Pokemon X and Y, which is set to launch this October. Attendees can also check out The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and the next Professor Layton game, Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy.

Gamescom will take place in Cologne, Germany Aug. 21 through 25. Polygon will be in attendence providing coverage of the show.
