Arma 3 launching Sept. 12

Arma 3, Bohemia Interactive's upcoming tactical military shooter, will launch for Windows PC Sept. 12 through digital and retail channels, the studio announced today via press release.

The title will include a number of single-player and multiplayer challenges and scenarios, a pair of massive environments and over 20 vehicles and 40 weapons. The game will launch without a single-player campaign, which will be released in the form of a trio of free downloadable expansions to the game; however, modders will be able to utilize a scenario editing tool to whip up battlefields of their own as they wait for the content to drop.

Players can get into the game's beta before that date and secure themselves a copy of the game by pre-ordering Arma 3 through Steam or Bohemia Interactive's website. Two versions of the pre-order are available, including a $44.99 standard edition and $59.99 "Digital Deluxe Edition," which includes a bevy of virtual bonuses.
