In a video released today for Payday 2, the developers at Overkill Software walk viewers through a bank heist that shows what can go right, wrong and how to adapt to a life of chaotic crime.
Check out the video above to see four developers team up for what appears to be a simple in-and-out job, though as you'll see, the best laid stealthy plans sometimes go awry. Crooks have to adapt. You'll also get a look at the classes each player can take on — the Mastermind, Enforcer, Ghost and Technician — and how those classes are better at certain tasks, aided by gear Payday 2's role-playing game-inspired abilities.
"Each archetype has a different set of strengths and abilities," game director David Goldfarb wrote today on the PlayStation Blog. "If a player wants to be stealthy, but also carry a saw or silenced shotgun, he or she just needs to level up enough to spec the appropriate Ghost and Enforcer skills. Don't forget that Portable Saw!"
The first-person cooperative shooter — a sequel to 2011's Payday: The Heist — is set for an Aug. 13 release on Windows PC and will be out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 by Aug. 16. Steam pre-orders will get you into Payday 2's recently launched multiplayer beta.
