GameStop offering $50 credit towards Xbox One titles

New, 17 comments

GameStop is offering consumers a $50 trade-in credit for select Xbox 360 titles if they upgrade to the Xbox One version of that title.

The promotional scheme is only open to those who are PowerUp Rewards members when they purchase any of the participating standard edition Xbox 360 titles: Call of Duty: Ghosts, Madden NFL 25, FIFA 14, Battlefield 4 and Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag.

To qualify for the trade-in promotion, the Xbox 360 game must be bought within 30 days of its launch date. Once traded-in for the Xbox One version of the same game at any U.S. GameStop store, consumers will get a $50 credit coupon in their PowerUp Rewards Active Offer and via email. The coupon must be used by Dec. 31, 2013.

"This is an amazing opportunity for our PowerUp (PUR) members to enjoy their favorite Xbox 360 game until the Xbox One version becomes available," GameStop's senior vice president of merchandising Bob Puzon said in statement. "This offer gives PUR members the chance to upgrade their current Xbox 360 game for the new Xbox One standard version of that game for $9.99."

The Xbox One will release this November for $499 and will include an Xbox One chat headset and a 4K-rated HDMI cable. An Xbox One Day One limited edition package includes the console, Kinect sensor, special edition Day One controller, chat headset, HDMI cable, power supply and a Day One-exclusive achievement code.
