Space sim X Rebirth is launching Nov. 15 in Europe followed by a release on Nov. 19 in North America, German studio Egosoft confirmed.
The game, which is part of the studio's X Universe series, has been seven years in the making. Studio head Bernd Lehahn explained why it's taken so long to develop, writing in a prepared statement: "Our goal with the design of X Rebirth was to achieve a huge scale. I do not mean the physical size of the universe which is easy to increase. I am talking about a living, breathing futuristic universe crawling with life."
X Rebirth will be on show at this year's Gamescom from Aug. 22 to Aug. 25 with a playable demo of the game available at the Deep Silver booth. A Reddit AMA will later be hosted by Lehahn, with a date to be announced in the near future.
