Project Spark devs stream nearly 50 minutes of raw gameplay

Project Spark developer Team Dakota has released an extended look at the world-building tools in its upcoming build-an-adventure title.

The Project Spark dev team streamed nearly 50 minutes of gameplay of the game running on Windows 8. Starting with a complete blank slate of a world, the devs created a hill with a waterfall, a sprawling world tree and a floating island, and went on to populate the world with buildings, goblins and sentient rocks.

At about 38 minutes in, the video moves from the game creator tool to show off Suspension, a map shown off at the game's E3 reveal that heavily resembled stylized monochrome platformer Limbo. In the video, the devs show how a game like Suspension can be customized on the fly to edit characters' speed and jump heights or to even turn on the color and make things less black-and-white.

Project Spark is in development for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows 8. No release date has been announced.
