The developer of Kickstarter-funded game Wasteland 2, inXile Entertainment, will release the original Wasteland game separately before the sequel, according to a project update.
According to the update, inXile had originally planned to bundle the first Wasteland with Wasteland 2 — backers of the project would be able to access the original game through Wasteland 2's menu.
Under a new deal with Wasteland rights holder Electronic Arts, the original Wasteland will now be released separately. Backers of Wasteland 2 will receive a copy of the original before the sequel launches, and those who did not back the project will be able to buy it on GOG.com.
Wasteland 2 is coming to Windows PC and Mac later this year.
