Aion outlines month-long fourth anniversary celebrations and events

NCsoft's massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Aion, will host in-game special events and activities for the entire month to celebrate the fourth anniversary of its western release.

The first event, the Alchemy Event, will take place on Sept. 4-18. Players can unlock special chests by obtaining keys from daily quests and "combining Alchemic Essences with Lead Fragments."

Deava's Day Events, from Sept. 18 through to Oct. 2, features special anniversary cake buffs, Deava Wings-rewarding quests, challenges that awards golden feathers and a hide-and-seek game, which offers mini-anniversary cakes as awards.

In Leave Your Legacy: Aethertech, running from Sept. 11-25,  users can submit to submit their design for an Aethertech Key and Mecha. Chosen designs will be created as a new Aethertech class to be included in the North American Aion 4.5 release. In-game Talk Like a Pirate Day will be held on Sept. 19. Players are invited to dress characters in the North American-exclusive Pirate gear and "participate in various themed activities."

"And with four years under our belt, we continue to push the envelope by providing our players with challenging dungeons, fast-paced, massive-scale PvP battles and amazing customization options allowing players to really come into their own within Aion."
