Command and Conquer's factions and new unit types detailed

EA's upcoming real-time strategy game, Command and Conquer, will include expanded factions from previous titles and new unit types,

development director Tim Morten said during a recent interview.

Command and Conquer takes place 10 years after the previous installment. According to Morten, the Global Liberation Army and the European Union will take over from the US faction in the previous games. The Asia Pacific Alliance has also been expanded as a broader version of the China faction.

Fans of the series can also expect to see a few familiar units.

"[The game is] about a third of the same units, a third modified versions and a third brand new," Morten said. "If you were a fan for example of the Overlord Tank, we still have Overlord Tanks in this game but we've also a lot of new vehicles."
