Microsoft opened registration today for the 12th Imagine Cup competition, inviting all students who are interested in gaming, innovation and entrepreneurship to get involved.
The three competition categories this year are: Innovation, World Citizenship and Games, with a $50,000 prize for first place in each category. In the games category, the entries that judges deem to be the most engaging and entertaining while targeting teens and youth on Microsoft platforms will score the highest.
This year, a team of students from Austria took the top spot in the game design challenge. In 2012, a team from the U.S. won with a game about math.
Those who are interested in participating can find out more about the competition here. The competition is open to all students around the world.
