Wii Karaoke U app arrives Oct. 4 in Europe

Karaoke application Wii Karaoke U by Joysound will be available Oct. 4 across Europe via the Nintendo eShop.

Wii Karaoke U will feature 1,500 songs at launch and several modes of play, in addition to standard karaoke options. In Battle mode, players can compete in two teams of five in a "sing-off." Standard Rating scores players based on how true their performance was to the original song, and In-Depth Rating mode offers a complete breakdown on melody, timing and more. The game's Online Rating mode scores player performances against singers worldwide.

Although the app itself is free, users must purchase time in increments of one hour, 24 hours or 30 days in order to perform. Without purchased time, users can still access the game's song catalogue and create playlists.

Wii Karaoke U was announced for European markets earlier this year, following a Japan announcement last year.
