Mighty No. 3, one of Mighty No. 9's bosses, is designed around a core theme of electricity and has a personality that could "best be described as ‘frenzied,'" according to an update on the game's Kickstarter page.
Mighty No. 9 is creator Keiji Inafune's spiritual successor to the Mega Man series. The post details No. 3's early concept designs, and well as her final form. While her original concept was considered a little "cute," Inafune instructed lead character designer Kimo Kimo to make her "a little more scary." The character's legs were also slimmed to give her a "floating" appearance. Check out the Kickstarter update to see No. 3's transformation in concept drawings.
Mighty No. 9 was announced during PAX Prime 2013. The game's Kickstarter campaign has already raised $2.1 million, far overshooting its original $900,000 goal; funding ends Tuesday, Oct. 1. Fore more on the game, check out our interview with Inafune on why he turned to Kickstarter to fund the title.
