Mega Man dev Inti Creates working on Shantae: Half-Genie Hero

Mega Man developer Inti Creates is working on Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, WayForward announced on the game's Kickstarter page.

"In September of 2011, mysterious Shantae fan art appeared in the gallery of Inti Creates employee Makoto Yabe (aka KOU)," the update reads. "At KOU's suggestion, Matt Bozon reached out to Inti Creates President and CEO Takuya Aizu to see if his studio would like to collaborate on Shantae. By the end of the year, Inti Creates was hired-on for Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, and has since continued on with Shantae: Half-Genie Hero."

According to the update, Inti Creates developed key artwork, concepts and character illustrations featured on the campaign's Kickstarter page and in the game's Nintendo 3DS PAX demo. Inti Creates is also currently contributing to the development of Keiji Inafune's spiritual successor to Mega Man, Mighty No. 9.. Inafune and his studio Comcept launched a Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund the development of the side-scrolling action game.

The Shantae: Half-Genie Hero campaign launched earlier this month, with WayForward asking for $400,000 to make Half-Genie Hero. The title is confirmed for release on Windows PC via Steam, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Wii U. The developer recently added PlayStation Vita and Vita TV support to the long list of confirmed platforms.
