Visceral Games/Electronic Arts

Fede Alvarez, the Evil Dead remake's director, is in talks to direct the live action film adaption of EA's Dante's Inferno, according to Deadline.

According to Deadline, EA Entertainment vice president Patrick O’Brien is co-producing the film with former Strike Entertainment partners Eric Newman and Marc Abraham for Universal Pictures. Newman and Abraham have produced numerous horror and action titles including the upcoming RoboCop reboot, Slither and The Thing remake.

Bruce McKenna (Band of Brothers, The Pacific) wrote the script's earlier draft and Jay Basu (Monsters: Dark Continent, Fast Girls) is attached as the current script writer. Developed by Visceral Games, Dante's Inferno first released in 2010 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable.

Other upcoming movie adaptions include Uncharted and Metal Gear Solid, which are currently in pre-production stages, with a Mass Effect film more than five years away. A full-length Gran Turismo movie based on the life story of Lucas Ordonez is also in production.
