Sony's recently announced microconsole, PlayStation Vita TV, will be released in Asian markets in January 2014, the company confirmed at its Sony Computer Entertainment Asia Japan press conference in Tokyo today.
Hiroyuki Oda, SCEJA deputy president, announced the availability of the tiny console, which plays PlayStation Vita, PSP and original PlayStation games, for China and Korea. Previously, Sony had only confirmed PS Vita TV's release in Japan, but has not ruled out other territories.
PS Vita TV will be released first on Nov. 14 in Japan for 9,480 yen. A bundle version featuring a DualShock 3 controller and an 8 GB memory card will be released for 14,280 yen. Pricing for other Asian markets was not announced at Sony's press conference.
The Asian launch of PS Vita TV will take place after Sony's next-generation console, PlayStation 4, comes to select Asian markets in Dec. 2013.
