NBA 2K14 dev diary explains next-gen gameplay improvements

A new developer diary for NBA 2K14 focuses on the gameplay improvements over prior years as the series moves to the next generation of consoles.

The game has received tweaks on both the offensive and defensive fronts, say the developers. The AI has been improved to be better about spacing and giving players the space they need to move, says senior producer Rob Jones. On the defensive side of things, the ball was designed to feel more "tangible," says producer Jerson Sapida, and well-timed blocks will make defensive maneuvers more intuitive.

NBA 2K14 will hit Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC on Oct. 1, and next-gen versions will launch alongside Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
