League Of Legends finals a sell out at Staples Center, North American regionals conclude

Tickets for the $8 million League of Legends World Championships finals have sold out, according to Ticketmaster's website.

In July, Riot Games announced that the Season 3 finals for League of Legends will be held at the Staples Center Oct. 4 and tickets for the finals went on sale on Aug. 15, at 3 p.m. ET through Ticketmaster's website. More than 10,000 people are expected to attend the finals in LA as teams compete for the Summoner's Cup and the $1 million first place prize.

The League of Legends North American regional finals concluded over the weekend. Cloud 9, Team Vulcun and TSM took out the top three positions, respectively. The three teams go on to compete in the World Championship, beginning with the Group Stages on Sept. 15.

The full list of dates and locations for the events leading up to the finals at the Staples Center are as follows:

  • Group Stage at Culver Sound Studios, Sept. 15-21, $20 per day
  • Group Stage at Culver Sound Studios, Sept. 15-21, $20 per day
  • Quarterfinals at Culver Sound Studios, Sept. 23-24, $30 per day
  • Semifinals at the Galen Center, Sept. 27-28, $30-60 per day
  • Finals at the Staples Center, Oct. 4, between $40-100

Last year, the League of Legends Season 2 World Championships broke the record for the most-watched eSports event, with 1.1 million concurrent online viewers at its peak and more than 8.2 million total unique views for online and TV combined.
