The latest installment of "This is eSports" visits Red Bull's National Headquarters, where StarCraft 2 players are training for a chance at entering a major tournament.
Eight pro players from Europe, North America and Korea are here training and practicing, says the event coordinator Rob Simpson. This is where they get the chance to try something new and work out troubles in their gameplay. The winner of the mini-tournament will receive $2,500 and be entered in Red Bull's marquee tournament Battlegrounds later this year, a StarCraft 2 event with $50,000 in prize money up for grabs.
As famed StarCraft 2 commentator Sean "Day[9]" Plott points out, this isn't just about practicing your gameplay, it's practicing how you play under different conditions and how to shut off negative thoughts in your head when you make mistakes.
