Evil Geniuses shake up Dota 2 roster

After a disappointing year in which Evil Geniuses didn't qualify for the The International 3 Dota 2 tournament, the eSports organization announced a team reorganization on its official Facebook page.

Evil Geniuses' previous roster — Bdiz, DeMoN, Fear, Maelk and Jeyo — was doing well at the end 2012, but in 2013 it became clear that the team wasn't playing to expectations. After a roster change, they entered and failed to qualify for The International 3, which would go on to attract more than 1 million viewers.

In response to "the worst day of the year for our organization," the team decided that another change was in order and announced the new lineup yesterday.

"Jio ‘Jeyo' Madayag and Clinton ‘Fear' Loomis (our Captain) will remain on the team," the post reads. "Joining them will be Saahil 'Universe' Arora and Ioannis 'Fogged' Loucas, both formerly of Team Dignitas, who deserve thanks for agreeing to a very reasonable contract buyout settlement. Rounding out the lineup is Arif 'MSS' Anwar, who at only 17 years of age will certainly be the lineup's up-and-comer."

The new team will compete for the first time today in the WePlay Dota 2 League.

Earlier this year, Evil Geniuses teamed up with peripheral manufacturer Razer and later dropped a StarCraft 2 player for his behavior in forums.
