Pro Evolution Soccer 2014, Konami's upcoming installment in its annual soccer franchise, will receive a suite of online modes, the developer announced today.
The game, which was created with Kojima Productions' Fox Engine, will have a series of patches that add the multiplayer modes.
A day one patch will bring the Friendly Match Lobby and Ranking Match systems, which allow for matchmaking and leaderboards. Master League online mode will also become available.
A second patch "to be provided in the weeks after the initial launch" will round out PES 2014's online features, including 11v11 multiplayer and a new matchmaking feature designed to pair players of similar skill. Roster updates and cosmetic improvements will also arrive with the second patch.
PES 2014 is set for a Sept. 24 release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. For more on the game, you can check out a trailer of soccer as seen through the Fox Engine and learn from its developers how using the new engine changed the game.
