WayForward’s Shantae Kickstarter achieves funding goal

WayForward Technologies' Kickstarter campaign for a new entry in its Shantae platforming series, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, completed its funding goal today with 10 days left.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero crossed the $400,000 mark with the help of more than 10,000 backers. WayForward also revealed two more stretch goals: playable heroes at the $900,000 thousand mark and an additional chapter if the campaign reaches $1 million. The first stretch goal, available at $500,000, will add a "risky" mode that stars the game's nemesis, Risky Boots.

The Kickstarter campaign launched Sept. 4 and comes to an end Oct. 4. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is currently being developed for Windows PC via Steam, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation Vita TV, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Wii U.
